About the Journal
The Social Studies Education (SSE) Journal is a biannual publication dedicated to advancing field and library research within the broad domains of social sciences and humanities education. The journal covers a wide range of topics, including but not limited to social studies pedagogy, curriculum development, civic education, geography education, history education, and sociology education. It also includes research on the integration of digital technology in social studies, focusing on instructional media, interactive learning environments, and the development of 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, and cross-cultural understanding. The journal addresses the development and implementation of educational models for social studies, the assessment of learning instruments, and the impact of social science curricula on student character building, social awareness, and active citizenship. Note: The journal also considers interdisciplinary studies that connect social studies with other educational fields, provided the primary focus remains on social phenomena, community engagement, and civic literacy.
